The initiative is being developed within the framework of the RETECH (Territorial Networks of Technological Specialization) projects, funded by Next Generation EU funds, and arose from the need identified by SPRI and GAIA/Cybasque to implement various lines of action aimed at boosting cybersecurity in the Basque Country, one of which is the creation of this virtual community. The platform has a dual objective: firstly, to serve as a meeting point for all stakeholders, activities, and initiatives in the sector; and secondly, to bring this crucial area to all those in the Basque Country with cybersecurity needs. Among the resources already available is a free online cybersecurity training platform, structured into two tracks: one on the use of cybersecurity in advanced technologies, designed to introduce cybersecurity concepts and best practices to all sectors; and the second, specializing in quantum technologies, aimed at professionals interested in delving deeper into this emerging field. Both tracks are now accessible to anyone interested in participating. In addition, Cybergune integrates collaborative spaces and connections between companies that supply and demand cybersecurity solutions.
User organizations will be able to consult profiles of specialized companies, learn about projects, locate entities, and access information on grants, public resources, and training programs available in the Basque Country. The platform also includes thematic forums for discussing cybersecurity challenges and trends, as well as a dedicated space with public resources and tools of interest to the Basque ecosystem.
Digital meeting point for the sector
“Cybergune was created with the aim of becoming the digital meeting point for cybersecurity in the Basque Country, facilitating collaboration between companies, sharing knowledge, and bringing resources and capabilities closer to the entire economic fabric,” Cybasque representatives emphasize. They also report that all companies included in the Basque Country Cybersecurity White Paper will have their own profile on the platform.
Companies interested in joining the platform should contact them through the community's contact section. With this initiative, Cybasque aims to further strengthen the position of the Basque Country as a leading cybersecurity ecosystem, "promoting collaboration, training, and access to innovative solutions for businesses and organizations.".
RETECH Project: Advanced Cybersecurity Analysis Tools.
In addition to the virtual community, the RETECH project, developed by Cybasque, has created advanced cybersecurity analysis tools, such as a rating system based on BitSight technology. This system allows for the non-intrusive evaluation of various indicators related to the digital security of organizations. Thanks to this tool, sector-specific reports have been produced in collaboration with different clusters and ecosystem stakeholders, which will be published periodically on Cybergune.
Cybasque is also working on developing its own cybersecurity rating model, designed to help organizations identify the requirements needed to advance in compliance with regulations and certifications such as NIS2, DORA, CRA, and ISO 27001. The reports generated, both in BitSight and from the proprietary rating model, will be published periodically on Cybegune
