Singapore's design research center chooses Agilent Technologies' RF test equipment
Agilent Technologies Inc. has announced that Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore has selected Agilent as the RF test equipment supplier for its Virtus Center of Excellence for integrated circuit design.
Virtus aims to become a world-class design center, developing the key technologies needed to design integrated circuits and systems for use in consumer electronics, medical equipment, and clean energy generation. The equipment, which includes signal generators, a network analyzer, and integrated circuit analysis and characterization software, will be used in near-terahertz frequency research projects, starting with WiGig applications and progressing to higher frequencies at 325 GHz.
“Agilent has enabled us to introduce new technologies and knowledge to accelerate the development of NTU’s research and design capabilities,” said Professor Yeo Kiat Seng, founding director of Virtus and head of the Circuits and Systems Division at NTU’s School of Electrical and Electronics Engineering. “Furthermore, Agilent provides excellent research support and commitment, which has helped to show our faculty, researchers, and students the realities and opportunities of the new knowledge-based economy.”
“Education and research represent a significant growth market in Singapore,” said Lawrence Liu, Sales Director for Agilent’s Electronic Measurement Group in the South Asia-Pacific region. “Agilent recognizes the talent of NTU’s researchers and students and is proud to contribute to the school’s future success.”
