The JITC certification supports the development potential of Infinera's DTN with the United States Department of Defense and its dependent agencies.
Infinera's DTN is the first DWDM system to achieve this certification for carrying 40 Gb/s. Infinera's Bandwidth Virtualization© is the only solution that enables the delivery of 40 Gb/s services over any optical infrastructure currently capable of carrying 10 Gb/s services. Joint In-the-Center
(JITC) testing allows for a thorough evaluation of a product's ability to deliver security, protocol compliance, stability, scalability, interoperability, and manageability for potential Department of Defense network configurations. The JITC tests replicated potential Department of Defense network configurations, and the tests confirmed Infinera's DTN's ability to interoperate across various configurations and protect sensitive information.
Infinera adds JITC approval to a list of certifications that includes the Army's Test Integration Center (TIC) at Fort Huachuca, Arizona, and the Department of Agriculture's Rural Development Program for network development in rural environments. Infinera's DTN has been deployed in public sector networks, including the New Mexico State Network and the Internet2 backbone, the world's largest research network.
Based on large-scale photonic integration, Infinera's DTN carries 100 Gb/s of optical capacity on a pair of integrated photonic circuits, offering scalability, flexibility, and robust security for government networks. Infinera's optical systems are designed to potentially scale to 8 terabytes per second of capacity on a single fiber. Future generations of Infinera's integrated photonic circuits will potentially offer multiple terabytes on a single chip to support the most demanding civilian and military applications.
Infinera's DTN is a digital ROADM for long-haul and metropolitan networks, combining high-capacity DWDM transport, integrated digital bandwidth management, and intelligent GMPLS service on a single platform.
Infinera supplies digital optical systems to telecommunications operators worldwide. Infinera's systems are unique because they use advanced semiconductor technology: the photonic integrated circuit (PIC). Infinera's systems and PIC technology have been designed to deliver optical networks that offer key features such as greater flexibility and simplicity in engineering and operations, faster service launches, and, in particular, the ability to launch new services without modifying the existing optical infrastructure.
