This flagship project will demonstrate Europe's ability to deliver advanced digital services using its own connectivity infrastructure, reducing dependence on third-party providers. The Telco-Edge-Cloud concept combines telecommunications networks, edge computing, and cloud infrastructure into a single integrated platform, bringing secure, high-speed computing power closer to end users.
The project is directly aligned with the objectives of the Digital Networks Act, opening new opportunities to strengthen the European single market for telecommunications and increase European technological sovereignty. Furthermore, it will boost European innovation in areas such as 6G, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and telecommunications, enabling numerous sectors of the economy to utilize the solutions developed by EURO-3C.
To build this infrastructure, some of Europe's leading companies and organizations are collaborating, including telecommunications operators, cloud service providers, software developers, equipment manufacturers, research institutions, and technology integration specialists.
With 87 members in the consortium, the project also aligns with EU strategic priorities and initiatives such as IPCEI-CIS, the Smart Networks and Services Joint Undertaking , and the EuroHPC Joint Undertaking, contributing to strengthening European industrial competitiveness.
