Interxion's Managing Director in Spain, Robert Assink, stated that “MAD3, with an investment of €45 million, will contribute to wealth creation for the local economy, generating a €425 million impact on GDP over the coming years. It will also create 144 jobs and an investment in IT equipment exceeding €500 million. Without investment in this type of digital backbone infrastructure, this effect would not occur and could happen in another country. We must seize the opportunity that Madrid has to become the digital hub of Southern Europe: it is strategically positioned, and traffic from other continents interconnects here.”
