According to World Bank data, the digital economy accounts for 15.5% of global GDP, enabling companies to undergo digital transformation to reach a wider market. At the regional level, according to data from the venture capital firm Atlantico, Latin America has seen a considerable increase in investment in technology companies, leading to a market capitalization of 3.4% in the third quartile of 2021 alone.

In Mexico, digital business transformation has played a significant role during the pandemic and the post-pandemic period the country is experiencing. The sectors with the greatest progress in digital transformation are:

● Northern, western, and Pacific regions of Mexico:
○ Automotive sector, aerospace industry, distribution centers, manufacturing, data centers, and logistics sector.
● Central, southern, and southeastern regions of Mexico:
○ Retail, tourism, education, real estate sector, and data centers.

"The digital transformation of the northern, western, and Pacific regions has benefited from the development of Data Centers in Querétaro, the automation of processes in Distribution Centers, and the planning of production lines in the automotive sector, which has begun to show growth since February of this year," says Jorge Bleizeffer, commercial manager of Panduit for the northern, western, and Pacific regions of Mexico.

The expert highlights that the incorporation of audio and video tools for spaces such as offices and smart buildings has been key to facing the new normal, as they offer a solution to the need for real-time videoconferences, presentations with image and sound, and remote work systems.

The specialization of distribution and integration channel members has been vital to complementing digital transformation projects in the country. Each region of Mexico offers a greater number of certifications tailored to the needs of the regional market. For example, the northern region requires certifications in the industrial sector, while the central and southern regions offer courses focused on digital buildings, Office 2.0, and data centers.

"Channels are the foundation for all digital transformation, which is why it's important that they are enabled in a different way and specialized through virtual and in-person courses to provide an efficient response to customer needs," says Antonio Aguirre, commercial manager of Panduit for the central, southern and southeastern regions of Mexico.

Juan Pablo Borray, Panduit's business development manager for Latin America, points out that the main trends for 2022 will be reflected from two perspectives: Data Centers and Enterprise units.

Regarding Data Centers, the Panduit expert points out that the pandemic accelerated the process of incorporating and improving Data Centers in just a few months, so now they offer network infrastructure solutions with high scalability, Data Center monitoring solutions to collect environmental and connectivity data, and solutions that promote energy savings of up to 30%, such as passive cooling elements.

Whereas, in the case of Enterprise solutions, the trend points to a convergence between building systems, that is, the integration of video surveillance systems, connectivity, IT systems, among others.

“Network infrastructure must now support data and power, in addition to having a discreet design, hidden from users, that helps guarantee wired and wireless connections to enterprise networks. This trend had already been seen in previous years, but it is regaining strength so far in 2022,” says the Panduit executive.

One of the main trends for 2022 will be the incorporation of Audio and Video systems in different environments, including offices, schools, entertainment centers and retail stores.

"During 2021, 9 out of 10 office workers had to use videoconferencing systems. Therefore, it is important that both end users and our channel partners understand the importance of the convergence of IT systems with audio and video solutions, as this knowledge can bring significant benefits to both parties," says Mauricio Escobar, Atlona's channel account manager for the Caribbean and Latin America.

On the other hand, the expert points out that the most important solutions for the development of audio and video systems in the post-pandemic era are directly related to low latency, end-user experience, and process automation.
