This free app, called 'Liebert PCW', is now available for iPad on the Apple Store. It allows data center managers to create a PUE history for their data center, enabling them to make more informed decisions about when and where energy savings can be achieved. The app includes two different calculators: a PUE calculator that calculates the PUE value of your data center, and a basic operating cost calculator that shows exactly how much money can be saved by installing more efficient equipment, such as Liebert PCW.
Cooling systems typically account for 30-40 percent of energy consumption in a data center*, so optimizing their efficiency is a top priority for data center managers. The application also includes an in-depth look at the Liebert PCW solution, giving users the opportunity to study its technical features and see exactly how this technology can deliver energy savings in their data center.
In EMEA, an even wider range of options for the Liebert PCW will be presented. The aim is to improve energy efficiency and environmental management, and this includes the following:
A new Liebert® PCW model with a dual chilled water circuit: a configuration that provides cooling redundancy for customers who cannot install two units, without compromising efficiency. Currently, the Liebert PCW delivers market-leading efficiency with up to 65 percent energy savings and can achieve a mechanical PUE of 1.11 when installed as part of a system with the Liebert HPC freestanding chiller unit.
New size: The unit now comes in a 3,350 mm frame, allowing the user to expand the cooling capacity up to 240 kW. This represents an installed capacity of 7.5 MW under a single control loop.
Infrared humidifier, ultrasonic humidifier, and water flow meter: these three options enhance the capabilities of the Liebert PCW in conjunction with units that have humidity and temperature monitoring options.
