Whenever a crisis arises anywhere in the world and an international mission is activated to stabilize the area, all the prior work of gathering intelligence on the electronic systems used by the adversary becomes one of the most important assets to guarantee the superiority of the army.
This is the information that ships, aircraft, and land platforms use to ensure their radars, sensors, and communication systems maintain their capabilities despite enemy attempts to interfere with them, and which, in turn, allows them to limit the adversary's capabilities. Knowing the electromagnetic signature of the radars used by each ship, aircraft, or land station is vital for detecting threats, preventing attacks, or choosing the most appropriate countermeasure for protection.
However, the constant evolution of enemy systems and the revolution brought about by their digitization compel the Armed Forces to continuously update their capabilities. To this end, Indra is developing electronic intelligence (ELINT) systems that enhance the Navy's ability to detect, classify, and extract intelligence from signals emitted by other militaries' radars.
The system incorporates the latest advances in digital signal processing, allowing the Navy to adapt more flexibly to any operational environment. It offers greater performance, range, and sensitivity, enabling faster data collection while simultaneously covering a wider bandwidth to detect the low probability of interception radars used by some platforms to evade detection. Its smaller size and lower power consumption also reduce the military's logistical footprint, facilitating longer, uninterrupted operations.
The demonstrator that Indra will deliver and that will be installed on one of the Navy's ships incorporates the technological blocks that will serve as the basis for the development of the future electronic intelligence capabilities of the Army and the Air Force and Space, thus making the most of the available resources and moving towards systems that can integrate and share data more fluidly.
