SK Telecom, one of the world's first mobile operators to launch 5G services for smartphones, selected the
Keysight 5G testing solutions to verify that 5G devices deliver the expected data rates on the mobile operator's network. Nearly three million SK Telecom 5G subscribers rely on superior data performance to access advanced services such as video, augmented reality (AR), and virtual reality (VR), as well as cloud gaming on smartphones without interruption.
“Keysight is delighted to support SK Telecom in its vision of creating a hyperconnected society,” said Kailash Narayanan, Keysight Vice President and Managing Director of Keysight’s Wireless Testing Group. “Keysight’s testing solutions and multi-domain technology expertise enable mobile operators like SK Telecom to successfully leverage 5G to serve consumers and industrial applications in automotive, entertainment, and retail.”

Keysight UXM 5G wireless test platform SK Telecom's 5G device manufacturer ecosystem enables it to verify that designs equipped with the new E-UTRAN dual radio connectivity (ENDC) technology deliver maximum data rates. ENDC achieves seamless handovers with higher data rates by allowing devices to aggregate LTE and 5G data streams received as different carriers.
The two companies began collaborating in 2018 to address challenges in the development of MIMO, millimeter wave, massive MIMO, and beamforming technologies. SK Telecom has employed a wide range of Keysight solutions, including 5G testing solutions to validate the protocol, radio frequency (RF), and radio resource management of 5G devices in both Frequency Range 1 (FR1) and Frequency Range 2 (FR2). Keysight is currently the only vendor supporting SK Telecom and the mobile operator device manufacturer ecosystem in verifying the data performance of 5G devices.
