The project has become one of the world's largest modular data centers and the largest for T-Systems. It has also achieved Uptime Institute Tier III certification, providing, among other things, 99.982% availability.
To implement this complex solution, Emerson Network Power had to overcome a rigorous selection process within a very tight timeframe and adequately meet T-Systems' requirements, which included the construction of a fully integrated containerized solution in Barcelona for a new 1.1 MW data center.
Emerson Network Power secured this ambitious project thanks to its research and development of reliable and efficient products and solutions for data centers, as well as its renowned after-sales service, which has established it as an expert in these types of comprehensive solutions.
The 38 container modules were specially designed and built by Emerson Network Power's Integrated Modular Solutions team in Croatia and subsequently transported to Barcelona. These modules ensure optimized cooling to achieve a PUE of 1.3 and are designed to meet the need for a high-density area for a computer cluster, equipped with 50 racks for up to 10 kW each, and a low-density area for general IT purposes, equipped with 240 racks of up to 2.5 kW each.
The data center, built on a turnkey basis, is divided into different areas (mechanical, electrical, and IT) with intelligent access controls.
