With this, the Spanish market now has accredited services for all the evaluation activities included in the scheme, since, in addition to the accreditation granted in the field of certification, there are already two accredited laboratories in the testing area: the LGAI Technological Center laboratory itself and DEKRA Testing and Certification.
The EUCC scheme, developed under the Cybersecurity Act, aims to raise the level of cybersecurity of ICT products in the EU market. Specifically, it allows suppliers of security products, such as smart cards, network devices and systems, user access control or key management systems, and many other products, to demonstrate their security by undergoing a common assessment process across the EU.
The development of the EUCC has been the result of intensive work carried out at ENISA with the participation of stakeholders, and in which ENAC has played a leading role in the development of the documents “Accreditation of ITSEFs for the EUCC Scheme” and “Accreditation of CBs for the EUCC Scheme”, with Rosalina Porres, head of the ICT section of the Laboratories and Product Certification department of ENAC and responsible for the accreditation schemes in cybersecurity, as EA's representative in the working groups that have developed these documents.
Since the European Commission approved the scheme, ENAC has made the corresponding accreditation schemes available to laboratories and certification bodies that wish to operate under this scheme, so that Spanish industry can begin the evaluation processes of its products against the new scheme as soon as possible.
