However, there is an alternative to these two processes that is growing in presence and implementation every year: energy recovery from waste.
The waste undergoes certain processes that reduce its volume, generating small quantities of waste and, in turn, energy from the contained materials. This energy is often comparable to conventional fuels, depending on the type of waste.
Therefore, the Regional Ministry of Economy and Finance, through the Directorate General of Industry, Energy and Mines, together with the Energy Foundation of the Community of Madrid and as part of the Madrid Saves Energy campaign, is organizing this conference on January 19th. They will also present a new publication to provide attendees with an overview of energy recovery from waste through the practical experience of key players, its applications, and its potential for future development.
