This solution offers a secure connection for communications both inside and outside the vehicle, as well as for vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) and infrastructure (V2I) communications. The SCM allows up to nine simultaneous internet connections for the vehicle and passengers, enabling them to watch movies, listen to music, play online games, tune into high-definition radio, and download and store content. It also provides important safety features such as automatic emergency calling, vehicle geolocation, speed control, roadside assistance, and the management of hazardous and low-visibility areas to prevent accidents.
The new generation of this device features significant improvements such as the FOTA (Firmware Upgrade Over-the-Air) service, which enables the vehicle's software to be updated without the need to connect it to any physical device. It incorporates a high degree of cybersecurity and is much more compact than its previous versions, allowing for better integration of the connectivity platform into the vehicle, making it virtually invisible.
The Smart Connectivity Module incorporates in a single device the wireless technologies of LTE telephony, WIFI, Bluetooth, AM and FM radio, DAB and GNSS positioning specific to each market, as well as mandatory emergency call in Europe (eCall) and in Russia (ERA-GLONASS).
