The Panasonic PAN1740 Low Energy (BLE) Bluetooth module, available from Mouser Electronics, is a member of Panasonic's second-generation "Nanopower" family of low-power Bluetooth modules. These new modules reduce power consumption by more than 66% compared to the current generation of Bluetooth Low Energy devices. Power consumption is 90% lower than in Bluetooth Classic devices.
The Panasonic PAN1740 consumes only 5 mA in both receive and transmit modes, allowing the use of coin cell batteries without any reduction in signal range or transmission power while maintaining the Bluetooth BLE specification. It has a small footprint of only 9 x 9.5 x 1.8 mm. The receiver sensitivity is -93 dBm, and the output power is as low as 0 dBm.
The PAN1740 module includes a built-in BLE battery and a GATT profile. It also features two internal oscillators and an integrated antenna, reducing the number of components.
The PAN1740 is intended for consumer applications, as well as wireless sensors, cable replacement applications, instruments, heart rate monitors, and blood glucose meters.
