The availability of the software update (MX882112C-041) now makes the MT8821C the first measurement solution in an enclosure for 4CC AC LTE-Advanced testing.
The increasing demand for content services such as mobile video streaming and social networking applications is driving companies to adopt new LTE-Advanced standards with faster performance and richer features. As a result, mobile device research and development (UED) divisions and chipset manufacturers increasingly require test and measurement solutions that support higher data rates using LTE-Advanced AC 4CC and LTE TDD-FDD AC technologies together, as well as higher-order modulations such as LTE DL 256QAM. This new series of releases for the MT8821C further expands its features and performance, making it the complete solution to meet these measurement needs.
Installing the software (MX882112C-041) on the MT8821C (already configured for LTE-Advanced 3CC CA measurement) enables RF receiver measurements for LTE-Advanced CA 4CC user equipment. Adding the simultaneously released LTE-Advanced FDD DL CA 4CCs IP data transfer software (MX882112C-046) expands the fully featured MT8821C with support for LTE-Advanced data transmission testing up to 600 Mbps.
In addition, the new LTE VoLTE Echoback software (MX882164C) is available for LTE measurement configured with the MT8821C, enabling power consumption and SAR testing during VoLTE voice calls and VoLTE voice function testing. This latest update to the core LTE measurement software will also now support LTE DL 256QAM and LTE TDD-FDD, combining CA and UE Category 0 capabilities within the instrument.
