The PX-1000, and other Raritan smart rack PDUs, gather extensive and accurate energy consumption data, including voltage, current (A), power factor, apparent power (kVA), active power (kW), ambient temperature and humidity, and energy consumption in kilowatt-hours (kWh). This provides data center operators with a clear view of energy consumption activity. Real-time information can be viewed on the PDU's LED display in the rack and remotely via a web browser. Users can configure critical and non-critical energy environmental thresholds, and alerts sent to data center administrators can enable them to take corrective action.
Maximum Accuracy:
The PX offers the industry's most accurate metering, with ISO/IEC +/- 1% billing accuracy in the crucial kWh measurement, while other solutions only measure current (A) or determine kWh through calculations and assumptions, rather than real-time measurements. “kWh is the key to understanding the true cost of energy use and carbon footprint,” said Chan. “With the launch of the new PX-1000 series, Raritan now offers true energy metering technology for data centers of all sizes.”
Advanced Display
: Also new to the industry with the PX-1000 is the first auto-flip PDU display, which changes the orientation of the LED screen when the PDU is rotated, providing greater rack-mounting flexibility. In addition to Ethernet, the PX-1000 comes with additional ports, including USB-A (host), USB-B (device), KVM functionality, and RS232 DB9.
All PX models are fully compatible with Power IQ® Energy Management software, which provides additional monitoring and management capabilities. Optional environmental sensors are also available that are automatically detected and displayed as soon as they are connected to the PX-1000. Raritan's in-rack temperature and humidity monitoring sensors help eliminate hot spots and over-cooling.
