It can also be deployed as a partially contained system that can be added as an upgrade, allowing for seamless growth within the existing space. It features up to 7 kW of cooling capacity, a 600 mm wide rack cabinet, and front and rear containment options. These new systems constantly monitor and adjust cooling capacity to ensure proper server inlet temperatures.
“Network closets and server rooms are critical systems in our customers’ IT environments and demand high availability to support essential business applications,” emphasizes Diego Astrada, Marketing and Communications Director for APC by Schneider Electric in Spain and Portugal. “The new APC InRow® SC systems provide the flexibility network administrators need for evolving IT environments, in standalone systems designed to work together with a scalable, modular architecture,” adds Astrada.
The new APC InRow® SC systems are simple, self-contained units, including the APC InRow® SC cooling solution, the APC NetShelter® SX rack cabinet, and APC rack air containment options. InRow® SC systems allow for easy installation and mobility when changes are made.
Intelligent, manageable components make the system network-enabled and provide autonomous monitoring.
Furthermore, the containment surrounding the racks and IT cooling creates an isolated environment capsule that can be placed in almost any low-noise environment as an option to add security solutions.
This new system includes:
- APC InRow® SC Cooling. Provides predictable cooling for server room and wiring closet environments in a row-based architecture, including active response controls, hot-swappable individual batteries, variable-speed fans, remote management, coil freeze protection, dry-contact outlets, and a horizontal airflow pattern.
- APC NetShelter Cabinet. Offers a reliable rack-mount environment for high-density and network equipment, including mountings for two APC metered PDUs (not included) in a rear channel, cross-vendor compatibility, numbered U positions, removable and reversible vented doors, and easy bay installation.
- APC Rack Air Containment. A modular system designed to work in conjunction with the APC NetShelter SX Cabinet and InRow Cooling Unit to provide maximum predictability, capacity, and efficiency. Easy to install, the Rack Air Containment Unit attaches to the front and rear of the NetShelter SX cabinet, thus eliminating the mixing of hot and cold air currents.
APC InRow® SC systems are available in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. The solution can also be configured as a fully redundant system to provide customers with additional availability.
