The Single Arm has been designed with high-quality thermoplastic materials intended for critical applications and environments, especially military and commercial EWIS that require weight savings per piece, corrosion resistance and protection against electromagnetic interference.
It has many advantages compared to its cast metal competitor. The composite families use a high-quality thermoplastic and are not vulnerable to electromagnetic interference, "stealth technologies," and are more resistant to vibration due to reduced harmonic resonance from the weight reduction (40% less compared to aluminum). The weight savings in the housing have a positive impact on the overall weight of the electrical system and contribute to fuel savings and a smaller environmental footprint per aircraft.
The development of Single Arm technology also provides the advantages of self-locking via interlocking, an internal ring with ratcheting engagement using non-corrosive clips. The audible click during installation ensures proper engagement.
