The MileGate 2200 is a new rack for the multi-service access platform. The rack is two units high and has four slots, three of which (in addition to the central unit) can accommodate any ADSL2plus, VDSL2, or Ethernet optical cards. Flexibility, a compact design, and a high level of reliability are some of the key features of the MileGate platform. Thanks to its robust design and wider operating temperature range, the MileGate 2200 is suitable for outdoor use. Its two-unit height allows for installation in confined spaces.
In a street cabinet (FTTC, Fiber to the Curb), network operators can use the MileGate 2200 to connect up to 144 lines with VDSL2 or ADSL2plus. The VDSL2 interfaces can operate at data rates of up to 50 Mbps (profile 17a). Both VDSL2 and ADSL2plus, as well as the optical Ethernet interfaces (e.g., for connecting business customers), can be used individually or in combination. As a result, network operators can offer sophisticated services such as VoIP, broadband internet, video-on-demand, and IPTV, even in locations with few subscribers.
With optical Ethernet cards, the MileGate 2200 subrack is also ideal for FTTB and FTTH applications. In FTTB installations, the VDSL2 card with a 30a profile is used, offering symmetrical broadband of up to 100 Mbps. In point-to-point operation, up to 72 optical Ethernet interfaces enable FTTH applications of up to 1,000 Mbps per subscriber.
