These space-saving devices are ideal for use in distributed computer networks and Edge Computing locations, and are now available and shipping from warehouses in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).

The Vertiv Geist RTS instantly detects power outages and automatically switches the load to an alternative source in less than 4 to 8 milliseconds, allowing supported servers and other critical devices to continue operating during planned or unplanned outages. It is currently available in upgradeable base models and enhanced intelligence models, as well as switched and output-level monitored models. Upgradeable base models include the intelligence currently needed, with the option to upgrade the technology as needs evolve. Enhanced intelligence models provide a comprehensive view of critical IT equipment's power usage, available in the rack or via remote access.

In addition to providing redundant power, the Vertiv RTS Geist also proactively monitors the IT environment, including temperature, humidity, and airflow. Users have the option to enhance device monitoring capabilities with remote monitoring of IT power consumption. The Vertiv RTS Geist can support up to 24 power outlets for higher-density rack configurations.

Available in 1,000 VA, 1,500 VA, 2,000 VA, and 3,000 VA capacities, the Liebert GXT5 Lithium-Ion UPS is a double-conversion online UPS that leverages the higher power density of lithium-ion batteries to deliver longer runtime in the same footprint as a typical valve-regulated lead-acid (VRLA) battery. The Liebert® GXT5 Lithium-Ion also supports scalable runtime by allowing the addition of up to eight 1U external lithium-ion battery cabinets to each UPS.

Lithium-ion batteries last between 8 and 10 years—roughly the lifespan of the UPS itself—compared to 3–5 years for VRLA batteries, eliminating costly and inconvenient battery replacements and maintenance. Lithium-ion batteries are also significantly lighter than VRLA batteries and perform better at higher temperatures, reducing rack cooling costs and energy requirements. These inherent advantages provide Liebert GXT5 Lithium-Ion users with a total cost of ownership up to 50% lower than a similar UPS using VRLA batteries over the typical UPS lifespan. Furthermore, the Liebert GXT5 Lithium-Ion features a high power factor (0.9–1.0) and efficiency of up to 95% in online mode and up to 98% in active ECO mode, enabling even greater energy and cost savings.

“As edge computing, the Internet of Things, and 5G continue to expand and become the new backbone of digitalization, distributors and resellers are looking for efficient solutions to protect small and micro IT installations from power outages,” said Birgit Jackson, Director of Integrated Racks and IT Solutions for Vertiv EMEA. “These additions to our IT channel portfolio bring a number of benefits to support growth at the network edge, enabling businesses to leverage the latest technologies and accelerate their digital transformation.”.

The Vertiv™ RTS Geist™ and Liebert GXT5 Lithium-Ion UPS are perfect for sectors such as banking, healthcare, financial services, education, energy, public administration and transportation, which have micro data centers, distributed IT networks or Edge Computing data centers.

These latest additions to Vertiv's IT channel portfolio allow EMEA resellers in participating countries to earn more points through the Vertiv Incentive Program (VIP), easily and automatically receiving rewards.
