This new TE connector can terminate the most common cable variant Cat 6A and support speeds of 10 Gbps and bandwidths up to 500 MHz.
As with all TE Industrial Ethernet RJ45 connectors, the new Cat 6A RJ45 connector offers a ruggedized design for use in Industrial Ethernet applications and is equipped with robust fast termination technology (the company's exclusive Common Core Platform Technology).
The connector incorporates an automatic cable cutting function for error-free installation and optimal performance in the field. Closing the core housing cuts off excess cable while simultaneously connecting the wires to the connector contacts.
At the launch of the new connector, Ruud van den Brink, Product Manager for Automation and Control at TE, said: "Thanks to its robust design, which includes easy and error-free installation and optimal cable-cutting function performance, the RJ45 Cat 6A is particularly well-suited for demanding industrial cable applications such as control cabinets, motors and motor controls, machinery and robotics, among others."
