This range features a hybrid interconnection system based on contactless data and power technology, enabling easy short-distance connections without physical links. The connectivity system offers numerous advantages, including design flexibility, unlimited docking cycles, and reduced maintenance costs in industrial and control applications such as robotics, centrifuges, in-line inspection, milling machines, high-end printers, rotary tables, and molding machines.
Unlike traditional mechanical connectors, ARISO connectors use an inductive magnetic coupling system between the transmitter and receiver (M30 x 80 mm in size) and therefore do not require physical contact. These connectors can transfer data and power not only through air, but also through various materials and liquids, such as oil or water. They also automatically disconnect if a foreign metallic object comes between the transmitter and receiver.
Designed to replace complex and costly installations, the ARISO series consists of five contactless male and female connectors with improved design specifications. They also offer interchangeable dynamic coupling between ARISO couplers and can be connected to traditional systems using standard M12 cables.
The system's use of dynamic adjustments allows the connectors to maintain a secure connection and avoid alignment issues caused by changes in movement. This freedom of movement includes 360° rotation, angular movement, and variable distance between the connectors. This results in a highly vibration-resistant connection, making the devices ideal for on-the-fly connections, such as connecting remote I/O or sensors to moving machine parts.
The connectors are also designed to provide secure and reliable connectivity, offering unlimited mating cycles even in harsh environments, thanks to their high vibration resistance and fully sealed couplers, which also translates into a significant reduction in maintenance costs. All of this makes them the ideal choice for humid, dusty, or contaminated environments. The connectors also provide a full range of protection features, including reverse polarity protection for data and power transmission, overheat protection, and IP67 ingress protection.
In general, without the wear and tear from friction caused by traditional contacts, these contactless connectors have a very long lifespan. This opens up a whole new range of implementation opportunities, providing greater design flexibility and cost savings.
