The MX123 system utilizes interfacial, sealing, and matting technologies to optimize waterproofing performance, reduce encapsulation size, and simplify the harness assembly. The sealing and matting technology reduces the distance between the terminals and the core, eliminating the need for individual wire gaskets. The interfacial gasket is located inside the connector shield, protecting it from damage during harness handling. Additionally, the header pins feature contacts protected by a center wall that is longer than the terminals.
“Based on size 064 and 280 terminal systems, the MX123 offers optimal electrical performance in high-vibration applications such as diesel engines and turbochargers,” says Scott Reynolds, global product manager for sealed connector systems at Molex, adding, “The size 064 terminal system effectively increases normal strength and provides the valuable selective coating necessary to maintain performance characteristics in the most demanding environments.”
The MX123 toggle connectors are compatible with the MX123 vertical printheads and are designed for flexibility, offering two mounting options, three PCB electrical strategies, and multiple coating options. They can be mounted vertically from the top or bottom of a molded part. The printheads are available for through-hole soldering, wire-soldered connection technologies, and compliant pins with precious gold or silver plating.
