With the help of conversion rules (Gateway tables), CAN messages can be filtered or sent under a different identifier. These mechanisms reduce the load on the bus in individual networks by only sending messages relevant to the other network.

The CANbridge is available in three versions: an industrial version with DIN Rail Housing or a robust metal encapsulated version, and an automotive version in Metal Housing.
Configuration:
The CANbridge can be configured using a configuration file, which is uploaded via RS232 using the software supplied with the device, or using a special Windows gateway configuration tool. This tool allows for quick and easy drag-and-drop configuration, either free of charge or based on CANdb bus descriptive files.
