LineRunner-IS-3440-wKEYMILE is a leading provider of communication solutions for access and transmission systems. At InnoTrans 2014 in Berlin, the company will showcase its diverse range of applications that enable the efficient and future-proof operation of telecommunications networks for rail and transportation companies. In line with its motto, "Because connectivity matters," the company will present its extensive portfolio of German-made products and solutions for mission-critical communication networks for rail companies in Hall 4.1, Stand 315. The focus will be on transmission using MPLS-TP, as well as application scenarios with industrial Ethernet switching.
KEYMILE's MileGate multi-service access platform supports the gradual migration of SDH/PDH networks to packet-based and MPLS-TP technologies. MileGate can function as a modular Ethernet/IP switch, an SDH/PDH multiplexer, or a combination thereof, without restricting the functionality of the other technology. The goal of MPLS-TP is to provide deterministic data transmission, similar to SDH, even in packet-based networks. Control and definition of transmission routes are not performed at individual network nodes, but rather by a network management system. As a result, railway companies can establish end-to-end SLA-based services across a transport network.
Keymile's LineRunner-IS family of products is used for industrial Ethernet solutions. It comprises several units for transmitting mission-critical data in networks requiring high availability. Depending on the design, the units have WAN interfaces for transmission over copper and/or fiber optic lines. The LineRunner-IS-34xx devices support both TCP/IP and serial data. These can be transmitted simultaneously on the same network. The benefit is that by using a combination of these devices, network operators can gradually expand or upgrade existing infrastructure with future-proof IP technology.
“Railway companies are particularly demanding when it comes to transmission systems. Network companies expect data transmission to be secure and highly reliable, using both traditional and increasingly IP-based transmission technologies,” explains Axel Fory, Managing Director of Sales at KEYMILE and responsible for global sales. “As a proven, experienced, and professional consultant and provider of mission-critical communication networks, KEYMILE offers a comprehensive portfolio of German-made products that enables companies to create and operate future-proof solutions.”
