The new ModJacks have been developed for PoE designs supplying 350 mA or PoE+ applications with a maximum current of 600 mA per pair. PoE+ allows for power outputs of up to 30 W (for PSE), thus enabling high-power network devices such as wireless access points, video/IP phones, network cameras, door locking systems, and point-of-sale terminals. The ModJacks are ideally suited to a wide range of commercial and industrial applications and support the upcoming convergence of voice, video, data networks, and high-speed computing.

With this release, ERNI Electronics expands its extensive catalog of standard Mod Jacks with integrated magnetic elements, offering single-port, multi-port, right-angle, vertical, and low-profile versions. The top-mounted contact area and 1.3-inch length make these new components ideal for immediate replacement. The new devices are compatible with common PHYs from leading manufacturers. An innovative 12-core design with capacitors and resistors meets all Gigabit Ethernet requirements for switches or hubs, and the product is configured to provide voltage isolation and performance compliant with FCC and IEEE 802.3 standards.

The new ModJacks are available with integrated LEDs for status visualization. They are RoHS compliant, specified for industrial use, and operate within an extended temperature range of -40°C to +85°C. They can be incorporated into processes using lead-free wave soldering techniques at temperatures up to 270°C.
