The logic module can now communicate with up to 16 installed Safe I/O modules. Combined with input modules that have 16 Safe I/O inputs, each SafetyBridge block supports up to 256 Safe I/O inputs, and a standard PLC can control up to 31 of these blocks. These systems can exchange safety signals, enabling the use of SafetyBridge technology in large, modular machines and systems. Module parameterization and safety logic configuration are conveniently performed using the Safeconf software.
In total, there are 14 different safe functional modules: from the simple E-Stop to various muting modules. The complete independence of this safety solution from the controller and the network provides great flexibility for integrating functional safety into machines and systems. The safe modules can be distributed across the network in combination with non-safe inline I/O modules and communicate with any standard PLC via fieldbuses such as Interbus, Profibus, DeviceNet, CANopen, Profinet, Ethernet/IP, Modbus TCP, etc.
