Moxa has installed Azure IoT Edge on its IIoT gateways to provide Microsoft Azure customers with an easy-to-use solution for extending their IT infrastructure and enabling operational data connectivity in their industrial applications. These IIoT gateways offer two key benefits to Azure IoT Edge: securely and reliably bringing data from different sites to the cloud for analysis and monitoring, and delivering intelligence to devices in the field.
Integrating Azure IoT Edge with Moxa's IIoT gateways benefits customers in several ways, especially those operating on Linux platforms. These benefits include secure remote connections to enable deployment in locations outside urban centers; connectivity to allow existing legacy applications to share data with the cloud; and device management and extended product lifecycle to ensure customers can deploy, scale, and maintain their IIoT applications.
With network security as a top priority, the edge device's security is based on TPM 2.0 and IEC 62443-4-2. Furthermore, its ruggedized computing hardware is designed for demanding industrial environments, ensuring it can withstand extreme temperatures and vibrations, for example. In addition to a five-year warranty for its edge devices, Moxa also offers 10-year support for Linux-based industrial systems, making these IIoT applications future-proof.
