Adlink MXE-1400 Fanless Embedded System Based on Intel® Atom™ E3845.
Based on the Intel Xeon dual E5-2400 v2 processor family, Adlink's new SETO servers enable telecom equipment manufacturers and application providers to deliver data center capabilities right at the network edge. The core concept is based on decentralizing computing in cloud-like architectures by bringing capabilities closer to the user (Fog Computing). The goal is to avoid uploading large amounts of data to central cloud nodes that can be processed from a repeater, for example. This creates a new service environment among nearby devices that offers ultra-low latency, high bandwidth, and does not consume cloud network bandwidth or resources from main servers. Furthermore, this new "Fog Computing" platform also provides storage, connectivity, and real-time access to the main network.
The core element of the new Fog architectures is the servers, which must not only be ultra-powerful but also extremely robust, as many will be installed alongside 
antennas or repeaters in areas with very harsh weather conditions. The ideal solution is the new SETO servers for Fog Computing-based applications from Adlink, as they offer features such as shock and vibration resistance, an operating temperature range of -40°C to +55°C, and IP65 protection. SETO servers also utilize Adlink applications with networking functions included in ARiP (Adlink Ready Intelligent Platform), such as PacketManager, remote administration features, and system management APIs for application developers. The ARiP software allows customers to focus primarily on their application and avoid dedicating resources to the proper functioning of the device architectures required for cloud deployment.
As for the server itself, its design allows for significant reductions in maintenance costs by eliminating fans and filters, and offers high-speed, weatherproof fiber and copper connections.
