5GHz WiFi (802.11ac) up to 1750 Mbps.
The Cloud Gigabit AC1750 router (DIR-865L) reaches speeds of up to 1750 Mbps, making it ideal for users who demand high bandwidth, such as those streaming Full HD movies, online gamers, or families with multiple WiFi-connected devices (laptops, smartphones, tablets, Smart TVs, game consoles) who need high performance and uninterrupted connections.
Simultaneous Dual Band: Faster speeds on the 5 GHz band
. Its simultaneous Dual Band technology creates two WiFi connections, one on the 5 GHz frequency band and the other on the 2.4 GHz band. Devices connected to the 5 GHz band, which is less congested than the 2.4 GHz band (used by standard routers, mobile phones, microwaves, cordless phones, etc.), will enjoy faster and more stable connections. Of course, it also uses the 2.4GHz band for devices that don't require high bandwidth (for example, for browsing the internet or using email). In addition, the DIR-865L has six internal antennas that allow it to send specific data streams directly from the router to the device, thus increasing the range and WiFi coverage throughout the house.
Parental control from iPhone/iPad/Android.
Regarding the DIR-865L's cloud features, it incorporates the mydlink™ Cloud Services platform, which allows users to remotely connect to the router from any browser on a PC/Mac or via the free mydlink lite app available for iOS/Android. This provides access to a management interface that lets you see which devices are connected and the pages they visit (a useful parental control feature). The router will also send an email notification whenever a device connects, if there is a network failure, or if intrusions are detected.
WiFi & 3G Media Server.
Furthermore, the DIR-865L is compatible with the free D-Link SharePort™ Mobile app for iOS and Android™, which allows access to media files stored on drives (hard drives, flash drives) connected to the router's USB port. This allows it to function as a media server, enabling you to watch a movie stored on the hard drive on your smartphone or tablet. It also allows you to upload files to a hard drive or USB flash drive locally or remotely, a great solution for overcoming storage limitations on mobile devices.
Other features of the DIR-865L include four Gigabit ports for maximum wired connection performance, IPv6 support, DLNA-compatible media server capabilities, QoS prioritization, and easy setup with the free Quick Router Setup (QRS) app, which allows you to configure the router even from an iOS or Android tablet or smartphone, without needing a PC. The Zero Configuration feature allows you to easily connect D-Link Cloud Cameras with just the touch of a button. The D-Link DIR-865L 5G WiFi Cloud Router is now available for €209, VAT included.
Coming soon: a 5G dongle.
Alongside the announcement of the new router, D-Link has also announced the upcoming launch of the DWA-182, a dongle (USB adapter) that brings 5G WiFi connectivity to all types of devices, with the resulting benefits in terms of speed improvements and cutting-edge wireless technology.
