With this type of construction, cables with a very small bending radius can be produced without having to use bend-insensitive fibers, which are more expensive.

NexansanunciaThe improved construction means that the cables can be used for both horizontal and vertical installations and are available in indoor or universal variants.

The LANmark-OF Micro-Bundle Indoor cable, easy for installers to use, features aramid fiber strands as one of its internal reinforcement elements and can accommodate a large number of fibers, available from 12 to 96. It offers excellent flame resistance and fire retardancy properties and also meets IEC standards.

The universal waterproof cable can be used both indoors and outdoors in conduits. Special additives in the coating make the cable UV resistant, and the fiberglass strands ensure that the cable is also rodent resistant.

Joost Grillaert, product manager at Nexans Cabling Solutions, said: “The new Micro-Bundle cable offers significant advantages compared to traditional unit-tube and loose-tube designs. The new design is much more flexible and cost-effective than using bend-insensitive fibers.”.
