SiemonanadeThis durability allows for backbone or horizontal installations in harsh environments, eliminating the need for conduits to protect the fiber optic cable. In contrast to unarmored fiber optic installations with innerduct or conduit, the use of armored cable can reduce installation costs by 50% or more for both materials and labor.

Available from 12 to 144 fibers in increments of 12 and in custom lengths, Plug and Play fiber armored cabling can be configured according to user needs to meet their specific requirements and to have high-density, high-performance fiber connections available exactly where they are needed.

These new fiber-armored cables join Siemon's extensive line of high-performance MTP Plug and Play fiber optic solutions. They are constructed with high-quality fiber optic cable and components that support critical links with speeds of 40Gb/s and 100Gb/s. Siemon's factory-terminated and tested Plug and Play connections ensure maximum channel performance without the performance variability associated with field terminations.

The OM3 and OM4 multimode MTP fiber cables are available in both armored and unarmored options and have passed independent third-party testing conducted by Experior Labs, confirming the capacity and performance margins for 40Gb/s and 100Gb/s in accordance with the latest IEC 1280-4-1 Edition 2 and TIA/EIA-455-171A standards.

These IEC and TIA/EIA testing procedures utilize the new Encircled Flux methods, which limit the negative impact on the accuracy of multimode fiber insertion loss and return loss results. Compliance with Encircled Flux reduces test variability by 75% compared to previous testing methods, helping to eliminate false pass results that can degrade overall network performance. These more accurate methods indicate performance margins of up to 60% over specifications for all tested Siemon products.

To ensure these high performance levels are maintained in every Plug and Play assembly, Siemon performs a 100% automated inspection of all fiber interfaces in accordance with IEC 61300-3-30 Ed 1.0 to limit contaminants and defects that degrade system performance. Siemon also tests all its Plug and Play components for insertion loss and return loss in both directions at 850nm and 1300nm wavelengths and ships the test results with each component.

Siemon's complete Plug and Play fiber optic system includes MTP to LC or SC systems, MTP adapter boards, and an extensive offering of pre-terminated MTP to MTP and MTP to LC cables.
