This "pencil-type" VFL is equipped with a 655 nm red laser emitter, visible through the yellow coating of fiber optic cables when breaks, bends, faulty connectors, splices, or other causes of signal loss occur, even in OTDR dead zones.
With a range of up to 5 kilometers, the FLS-140 visibly locates faults by creating a red "glow" at the exact location of the problem in single-mode or multi-mode cables.
This model also features a universal 2.5 mm connector and two AAA alkaline batteries for up to 40 hours of continuous operation, and can work in both pulsed and CW modes.
Therefore, this VFL with its anodized aluminum housing is a lightweight and durable tool that meets the needs of any technician.
