“Sub-watt power consumption and a compact size that enables high-port-density system designs make the SFCC transceiver ideal for storage hardware, NICs, HBAs, HCAs, industrial, instrumentation, and medical applications,” says Scott Kleinle, director of high-speed and high-power business lines at FCI.

The 11-pin electrical interface complies with the SFP+ MSA (SFF-8431) specifications for high-speed interfaces, including a 2-wire serial interface similar to I2C interfaces and power supplies, and with Fibre/Channel 2G/4G/8G specifications. This transceiver complies with RoHS 6/6, Directive 2002/95/EC, and Class 1 laser safety, according to IEC/CDRH.

The SCFF transceiver provides transmission up to 150 m over OM3 multimode fiber in 8G FC protocol with a consumption of less than 0.6 W.
