Its unique, patent-pending image matching capability allows users to document before/after, entry/exit, bridge/through, and initial/current situation comparisons in fiber installation and maintenance scenarios. FOCIS solutions are designed to be rugged, always available, and backed by both a comprehensive warranty and optional warranty extension programs. FOCIS kits are available for MPO/MTP, APC, and PC/UPC fiber configurations.
“Fiber optic network performance depends on clean fiber connections, so cleanliness will be a primary factor as the use of higher data rates and wavelengths grows,” says Bill Thompson, Marketing Director for AFL’s NOYES Testing and Inspection division. “Our new FOCIS solutions combine the power of laptop-based inspection systems with the simplicity, durability, and ergonomics of live fiber viewers. When combined with our One-Click cleaning products, FOCIS's analysis and inspection solutions allow users to achieve the contaminant-free fiber connections they need.”
FOCIS kits consist of a custom-designed touchscreen tablet, a digital video fiber inspection probe, and AFL SimpleViewPlus inspection software. The user-friendly systems feature an interface similar to personal navigation systems and smartphones. More than 1,000 images can be stored, and image files can be transferred to other devices via USB drives or standard SD cards. FOCIS solutions are packaged in a reinforced carrying case, keeping all cleaning and inspection components readily accessible and ready for use.
