Avatel has now reached 4 million homes passed with its fiber optic network. Over the past two years, the telecom company has pursued an aggressive strategy of acquiring local operators throughout Spain, with more than one hundred integrations.

The new deal with Lyntia Access will be closed for an amount close to 1 billion euros.

The fiber optic sector is experiencing a period of intense corporate activity. The Antin fund itself sold Lyntia Networks, the company from which Lyntia Access was spun off in 2021, to Axa IM Alts and Swiss Life Asset Managers. Last week, these two firms sold a 33% stake in Lyntia Networks to HRL Morrison, a New Zealand-based company specializing in infrastructure management.

Last week Telefónica reached an agreement to sell 45% of the capital of Bluevía Networks, its rural fiber vehicle, to Vauban Infrastructure Partners and Crédit Agricole Assurance.
