The growing demand for bandwidth for the use of 4G mobile applications and IP services worldwide has challenged the capacity of the backbone networks of operators and companies, generating the need for high-performance wireless solutions as an alternative to fiber optics and its associated deployment costs.
BridgeWave offers a complete range of high-capacity Gigabit Ethernet point-to-point microwave systems that transmit information and data at high speeds (up to 1 Gbps full-duplex). Its family of 60 GHz links, which can operate in unlicensed bands depending on the application (*), has been specifically designed to meet the needs of service providers, public administrations, and private networks. These millimeter-wave links, operating in the
60 and 80 GHz bands, offer bandwidths up to ten times greater than 5 GHz-based wireless links and are more immune
to interference.
Landatel's specialized knowledge of wireless solutions and the quality of its technical support led to its selection as a strategic partner for BridgeWave: "All of our new partners maintain strong relationships with network operators and systems integrators in their respective markets," commented Joe Schraml, Vice President of Marketing Solutions at BridgeWave. "Through this new relationship, BridgeWave will better serve our customers' support needs in Europe, offering faster response and delivery times. We are delighted to be working with Landatel to strengthen our business in these strategic segments.".
According to Javier Atero, Engineering Director at Landatel: “BridgeWave brings a very interesting addition to our portfolio of solutions for operators, as it offers highly reliable Ethernet connectivity solutions in urban environments, with the resulting savings in licensing fees. It also represents an alternative for operators and companies considering a backbone change, or experiencing spectrum saturation issues in the 5 GHz band, by offering greater immunity to interference and enhanced data transmission security.”
This alliance could be extended to the Latin American market through Landamex, Landatel's subsidiary in Mexico.
