This framework agreement, which lasts for three years, allows Open Cable and its associates to lease sites in Cellnex Telecom centers on advantageous terms, as well as transport services.
This collaboration agreement was signed within the framework of the 9th edition of the AOTEC Technology Fair, held this Thursday and Friday in Seville under the theme "Ultra-Fast Networks, Mobility, and Content," and sponsored by Cellnex Telecom. This congress serves as a meeting point for local operators in the telecommunications sector.
This forum addressed topics of interest to cable operators, such as the deployment of ultra-fast networks, mobility, and new content formats. The event, attended by over 700 participants, featured an extensive program of conferences and trade exhibition activities.
Cellnex
Telecom is Europe's leading independent operator of wireless broadcasting telecommunications infrastructure.
It offers site leasing services to telecommunications operators and provides state-of-the-art audiovisual services to national, regional, and local broadcasters.
Cellnex Telecom has made a strong commitment to developing its network of nearly 15,000 sites through the acquisition of mobile phone towers and the purchase of the Italian company TowerCo, positioning the company to develop next-generation networks.
Cellnex Telecom also develops solutions in the field of smart city projects and has deployed an intelligent communications network that enables the connection of objects and the development of a robust ecosystem for the Internet of Things (IoT) in Spain.
Cellnex Telecom's role in deploying radio communications networks for security and emergency services is also significant.
Cable
is currently the third largest cable operator in Spain. It brings together 47 telecommunications operators that provide services to 2.5 million inhabitants in 211 towns and cities across twelve different autonomous communities: Aragon, Extremadura, Murcia, Valencian Community, Castile-La Mancha, Galicia, Castile and León, Basque Country, Navarre, Catalonia, Andalusia, Balearic Islands, and La Rioja.
Each of the operators that make up the platform is connected in Madrid to Open Cable's central node, located at Interxion, Spain's largest data center. There, it has fiber optic connections to the world's leading telecommunications operators and providers.
Open Cable also has direct interconnection on its platform with telephone and IPTV operators, allowing it to offer the largest multicast platform in Spain.
