The financial strength provided by Epicom's two new partners will allow it to advance its own development of new technologies, such as post-quantum systems, as well as new markets in the private sector. This will enable Epicom to continue evolving its technological specialization in encryption systems with the highest levels of security.

The entry of Indra and Grupo Oesía into Epicom also contributes to the underlying strategy of advancing the consolidation of the defense and national security sector to generate a strong industrial ecosystem that reinforces national and European competitiveness and technological sovereignty.

Indra and Grupo Oesía already signed a long-term collaboration agreement last July to improve the overall offering of critical solutions for the Spanish Armed Forces and Security Forces.

Luis Furnells, CEO of Grupo Oesía, states that “This acquisition consolidates Grupo Oesía’s national leadership in the secure communications sector. With Cipherbit, Grupo Oesía now controls 65% of this market. This transaction continues the path of collaboration between leading Spanish companies in the defense sector, which was formalized in the agreement signed with Indra last July.”

According to Indra CEO José Vicente de los Mozos, “Indra continues to strengthen its role as a driving force in the defense and security sector in Spain, supporting the growth and competitiveness of the entire industrial ecosystem. To achieve this, it is necessary to enhance capabilities, such as those of Epicom, which are critical for security and defense in an increasingly digital environment.”
