This year, Advantech shared its knowledge and insights on how to address the challenges of the IIoT in the future by driving digital transformation in IIoT. Advantech invited Deepu Talla, Vice President and General Manager of Intelligent Machines at NVIDIA, and Erik Josefsson, Vice President and Chief Technology Officer at Ericsson, to offer their perspectives on AI, 5G, and Edge Computing.

Fragmentation in the IIoT application space presents a dilemma, and Advantech has developed an industrial application platform to overcome this challenge. The WISE-PaaS IIoT platform's features enable Advantech to provide microservices, facilitating access for Domain-Focused Solution Integrators (DFSIs) to all modules. This allows them to collaborate with Advantech and develop complete industrial solutions. According to Linda Tsai, President of Advantech's IIoT Business Group, "To accelerate the process of resolving the fragmentation dilemma and fulfilling the goal of co-creation, Advantech's IIoT Business Group strategy for 2020 has three main directions: developing product technology to connect with key trends targeting industrial markets, refining the implementation and management of WISE-PaaS Marketplace 2.0, and strengthening partner relationships and exchanging ideas on co-creation.".

- Product technology development to connect with key trends in industrial markets.
Advantech, which covers specific IIoT sectors such as Industry 4.0 infrastructure, smart manufacturing, traffic monitoring, and energy, supplies a comprehensive range of edge-to-cloud products with cutting-edge technologies, from 5G applications to AI. The goal is to provide optimal business support for digital transformation, aligned with emerging trends.

- Refine the implementation and management of WISE-PaaS Marketplace 2.0.
WISE-PaaS Marketplace 2.0 is a commercial platform for IIoT solutions that offers Industrial Application (I.App) subscription services to customers. This platform invites partners in its ecosystem to launch their solutions through it. Users can subscribe to Edge.SRP, general I.Apps, domain-specific I.Apps, AI modules, as well as consulting and training services provided by Advantech and its partners on WISE-PaaS Marketplace 2.0.

- Strengthen relationships with partners and exchange ideas on co-creation.
Intensify connections and relationships with distributors, systems integrators, and DFSIs to build a future of coexistence as ecosystem partners through the exchange and distribution of ideas, as well as collaboration on co-creation.

Advances and Growth in Key Technology Development: Industrial AI, Intelligent Edge Computing, and Industrial Communications.
At WPC, Advantech not only shared the development strategy and direction of its IIoT Business Group but also showcased the advancements and growth in technology development across several key sectors, including Industry 4.0 infrastructure, smart manufacturing, traffic monitoring, and energy. Among the highlights were comprehensive industrial AI solutions and a unique, integrated collaboration for industrial training and development between Advantech and its partners, designed to help customers build AI models quickly and accurately. Also featured was the new XNavi series intelligent edge computing software for machine vision inspection, production traceability, equipment monitoring, and predictive maintenance, as well as Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN) switches for intelligent communication, designed to significantly reduce transmission delays and improve network response times.

Advantech and its partners collaborate on the joint development of applications with WISE-PaaS.
Following the success of the IoT Co-Creation Summit held last year in Suzhou, Advantech invited 16 co-creation partners from across the country and around the world to showcase the solutions they have developed with Advantech in recent years. These solutions include networking and equipment solutions for printed circuit boards, smart community management, intelligent energy consumption monitoring, industrial environment monitoring, digitization of various equipment, and digital asset management, all based on WISE-PaaS and equipped with smart gateways or high-performance edge computing platforms.

Linda Tsai added: “Advantech is leveraging this conference to drive and promote the growth and sustainability of AI and IIoT solutions. Furthermore, it aims to create a new future ecosystem among industrial IIoT partners and strengthen Advantech’s leadership in the global IIoT market.” This year, more than 400 customers and partners from 40 countries participated in Advantech IIoT WPC, and over 40 booths showcased the latest IIoT solutions, including 16 solutions developed by Advantech and its partners.
