Following the acquisition of the Afina Group, Pedro Galatas, its former CEO, becomes EVP – Executive Vice President – of Westcon and President of Afina, reporting directly to Dean Douglas, CEO of Westcon Group. He will be responsible for the management of Afina and Westcon Group, excluding the Cisco/Comstor business, in Iberia, North Africa, and Latin America (excluding Brazil).
Westcon Group's growth strategy for 2013 will focus on expanding its geographic reach, strengthening and increasing its current presence in the various markets where it operates, specifically 68 countries across 6 continents, with more than 60 offices and 14 distribution centers, leveraging all available international and interregional synergies.
The implementation of this strategy for Iberia will translate into:
• Increased value delivered to the distribution channel: Through the development of Westcon Group programs such as a mentor program for channels, executive relevance selling aimed at supporting the sale of solutions with financial arguments, LEAP – Learn, Experience, Architect, Plan – which enhances the possibilities of conducting demonstrations and pilot projects for users, and global logistics services.
• Strengthening of Technological Solutions: In the areas of Convergence, Security, Data Center, and Services, thanks to a robust portfolio that unites nearly 50 leading manufacturers in each of the technologies. This is supported by a large technical and sales team that complements channel partners with a long-standing offering of specialized services, ranging from technical support, remote monitoring and management, managed security, consulting services, and certified training, to others such as business development and demand generation.
• Expanded capacity for global project development: Addressing the growing need for global business operations, Westcon Group offers its partners the GPS – Global Procurement System – model.
