Coriant has announced that ESpanix, the largest and oldest neutral internet exchange in Spain, has selected the Coriant Groove™ G30 network disaggregation platform as the foundation of a high-speed optical backbone connecting major data centers in Madrid. The initial deployment of the Coriant solution is already supporting resilient 100G services between the ESpanix Intersion PAR and ESpanix NODO data center locations.
The solution will enable ESpanix to offer 100G interconnection services cost-effectively, while reducing leased fiber costs through improvements in DWDM transmission efficiency and spectral utilization.
Founded in 1997 as a non-profit association for network operators, ESpanix today operates neutral facilities and a peering platform that has a peak aggregate traffic exchange of over 500 Gbps and provides local and international traffic exchange services to more than 100 networks.
