Since its founding in 1884, Furukawa Electric has transformed into a global corporation with diversified activities in the telecommunications, automotive systems, metals, and energy segments, among others, forming an international network of industries in countries in Asia, North America, Europe, Africa, and Latin America.
Currently boasting over 100 affiliated companies and state-of-the-art development labs, Furukawa is equipped to generate new technologies and products. Now, it will manage its Connectivity System operations in the region from its Madrid office.
Leading the team will be Diego Martín, EMEA Manager for Furukawa Connectivity System. After 14 years with the company, where he previously led Furukawa's operations in the Southern Cone, and with over 25 years of experience in the international telecommunications market, he is now responsible for coordinating the Connectivity System division.
Diego Martín explains: “Collaborating with Furukawa’s expansion in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa is an exciting challenge. One of the company’s main objectives is to help improve the lives of people and societies in every region where we operate. To achieve this, we contribute our expertise in developing designs, products, solutions, and services for communications infrastructure focused on this goal.”
“Spain has a strategic location; from a logistical standpoint, it is one of the most important gateways to Europe and allows us to consolidate our inventory and move it easily, not only within Europe but also to the Middle East and Africa,” Martín continues.
“Another reason for choosing Spain is that many of our international clients have significant operations in Spain in the industrial, telecommunications, and commercial sectors. Its domestic market is also very attractive for our products and solutions, as it is one of the leading countries in the region in terms of connectivity, modernizing its major cities, interconnecting urban centers, and investing in infrastructure.”.
