The aim was to review the results obtained in the cloud-based design experiment for custom insoles, a project in which Inycom collaborated with Podoactiva, the Rizzoli Orthopedic Institute, and the Italian safety footwear manufacturer BasePro. The results demonstrated that these custom-designed insoles, when inserted into BasePro shoes, increase user comfort by better distributing pressure on the feet.
These days have also discussed the continuation of the collaboration through new R&D projects and the commercial exploitation of the results obtained, in which Inycom would develop and support the necessary ICT infrastructure for a collaborative environment where podiatrists, designers and manufacturing centers are located in different countries.
CloudSME Project: Number One in Innovation.
The CloudSME project, which concludes in March 2016, has developed a commercial platform to provide cloud-based simulation services to industrial SMEs. This platform has been ranked by the European Commission's Innovation Radar as the innovation with the greatest potential after analyzing 517 innovations generated in 279 ICT projects funded by the Commission.
The CloudSME platform offers a unified interface and therefore a single point of connection to different commercial clouds and other HPC (High Performance Computing) infrastructures, such as Amazon Web Services and a wide range of academic and private clouds.
Within the project, Inycom has integrated into the platform a series of tools used by the Podoactiva company for the design of its templates, optimizing the process through its execution in any of the supported clouds.
