Working with Orolia allows Keysight to expand its portfolio of 5G device testing solutions with advanced simulation capabilities for global navigation satellite systems (GNSS ). As a result, current users of Keysight's 5G device testing solutions can address GNSS-related 3GPP protocol compliance and carrier acceptance testing requirements by upgrading the software on Keysight's UXM E7515B 5G Wireless Test Platform and combining it with Orolia's GSG-8 simulator .
Precise positioning is important across a wide range of sectors, including healthcare, air and road transport, entertainment, and national security. Future applications, such as drones and autonomous vehicles, will rely on high-precision positioning services for reliable navigation and the safe transport of people and goods. Mobile operators use GNSS and non-GNSS technologies, such as beamforming, angle-of-arrival positioning, and round-trip timing (RTT), to deliver customized services and support emergency calls.
The efforts of Keysight and Orolia will make it easier for chipset and device manufacturers to verify the functionality for accurately positioning mobile phone users within a geographic area. Orolia's automated and scalable GNSS simulator, GSG-8, supports current GNSS constellations, including GPS, Galileo, GLONASS, and BeiDou, with the potential to upgrade to future constellations. Keysight offers integrated positioning capabilities on the UXM 5G wireless test platform for non-GNSS positioning testing requirements.
