The certification was carried out in Ratingen, Germany, by the CLPA (CC-Link Partner Association) certification body. LAPP has been a CLPA member for many years and has also long offered certified cables for the CC-Link fieldbus version in its product range. With these CC-Link IE certified cables, LAPP now supports the Ethernet-based industrial variants of CC-Link IE.

“Through its certification work, CLPA contributes to the interaction of components in a CC-Link system. The advantage for customers when using certified products is that they don't have to worry about component compatibility. That's why we decided to have our cables certified by CLPA,” said Ralf Moebus, Head of Product Management Automation at UI Lapp GmbH.

In this first stage, 8 ETHERLINE® cables have been certified. The certified models are: ETHERLINE® H CAT.5e, ETHERLINE® P CAT.5e, ETHERLINE® HH CAT.5e, ETHERLINE® H FLEX CAT.5e, ETHERLINE® P Flex CAT.5e, ETHERLINE® Y Flex CAT .5e, ETHERLINE® FD P CAT.6 and ETHERLINE® FD P CAT5e

All cables are equipped with four pairs and are suitable for various applications thanks to a wide selection of outer sheath materials. These include mechanically resistant PVC sheaths, halogen-free FRNC sheaths, and PUR sheaths that are robust against cuts and abrasion. They are suitable for fixed installations, occasional flexible applications, or highly dynamic applications such as cable carriers. "All certified cables can transmit large volumes of data and have the necessary robustness for continuous use in machinery and networks in industry," said Christian Illenseer of Industrial Communication Product Management at UI Lapp GmbH.

LAPP is planning to certify other products in the future.
