Nanoradio's Always On WiFi™ solution – the NRX700/2 WiFi chipset, which offers proven full 802.11b/g functionality, minimal power consumption, and exceptional customer appeal – has been further strengthened by the launch of the new Eco-Fi™ product range, making the NRX600 and 605 products compatible with 802.11 b/g/n standards. This new investment will position Nanoradio to capture a significant share of the embedded consumer electronics market.
With this latest investment, Nanoradio will be equipped to support its combined growth volume by executing a more ambitious launch plan for a new range of competitive products.

“This will position us as a leading connectivity provider, and the investment in Nanoradio is a significant recognition of the confidence in our team and our ability to deploy according to plan,” commented Tord Wingren, Managing Director and CEO of Nanoradio AB. “Over the past 12 months, we have made tremendous progress, and we will now demonstrate our long-term commitment to continue providing global WiFi solutions for Tier-1 mobile phone manufacturers and showcase our high-volume deployment capabilities to the highest quality standards.”

“Nanoradio is the most exciting wireless semiconductor company in the Nordic region. We are very impressed by the strength of Nanoradio’s solution and its expanding customer base, as well as the overall execution by an experienced management team, which has recently been further strengthened.

Nanoradio is the first company to offer a solution that enables continuously connected WiFi functionality without draining the battery, and it is already part of a true system-on-a-chip solution, the Eco-Fi product range, which boasts impressive coverage and cost-effectiveness. The market for this solution is enormous, with hundreds of millions of WiFi devices, including mobile phones, that will continue to benefit from Nanoradio’s technology,” commented Chairman Torbjorn Nilsson on behalf of the entire board.

“We are very pleased with how Nanoradio has developed since our initial investment 12 years ago,” said Eivind Bergsmyr, partner at Viking Venture and a member of Nanoradio’s board.

“The company is executing its strategy to become the leading provider of WiFi solutions within the mobile industry, and with its existing product portfolio and growing customer interest, we are optimistic that Nanoradio will achieve its ambitious goals. Reaching €10 million thanks to existing investors demonstrates the strong belief they all have in the company.”
