“We are very pleased and honored to receive Raytheon’s highest Supplier Excellence Award,” said Thomas Alcide, Managing Director of Saft Batteries’ Specialty Batteries division. “Having received this award for the past four years, it demonstrates our commitment to the highest standards, continuous improvement efforts, and ongoing customer service.”.

This recognition is due, in part, to the successful delivery of more than 2,500 batteries to Raytheon's ITAS division to equip the U.S. Army's TOW missiles. Saft's 28V lithium batteries improve the surveillance, targeting range, and firing capabilities of these missiles.

Raytheon NCS established the annual Supplier Excellence Award in 2006 to recognize companies that exceed expectations and demonstrate outstanding performance in service quality and on-time delivery. Candidates undergo a rigorous evaluation process that includes a wide range of criteria, such as performance levels and quantitative and qualitative analyses. To achieve the 5-star rating, suppliers must first attain the 4-star rating. Saft is the only company to have received the highest award.
