Next, the container calculates the amount of cable based on its weight and category to generate an immediate reward voucher in the form of credit, which can be redeemed for future purchases or for SoneClub points—Sonepar Spain's customer loyalty program.
The cable deposited by customers is transported from Sonepar's logistics centers to a Nexans partner specializing in its recovery and recycling. The operational flow is managed through Nexans' CableLoop digital solution, ensuring complete traceability throughout the process.
Over the next year, Sonepar Spain plans to implement CableLoop at more points of sale to further expand this service that rewards its customers' commitment to circularity.
“At Sonepar, we are proud to work with our partner Nexans on the implementation of CableLoop to promote sustainable solutions in our sector. This unique service gives our customers the opportunity to easily recycle their cable scraps and receive a fantastic reward ,” said Bárbara García Florén, President of Sonepar Ibérica.
In 2024, Nexans began developing CableLoop for the first time with Sonepar France. “Now we are launching this initiative in Spain together with Sonepar, convinced that it will be a success. CableLoop simplifies recycling, promotes good habits, and offers a concrete solution to the current needs of installers ,” stated Joaquim Gelabertó, Director of Nexans Spain.
This service perfectly illustrates Nexans and Sonepar's ability to combine sustainability, proximity, and innovation: “Being part of this project reflects our full commitment to the circular economy, as the collected cable is taken to a company specializing in its recovery and recycling, where they separate the rubber from the copper to make raw material and manufacture cable or other products again, thus ensuring its circularity,” said Sandra Prat, Sustainability Director at Sonepar.
