This increases peace of mind for our users, who know that Synology has their back every step of the way.”.
 
In addition to extending warranty coverage, the plan introduces direct replacement options. Now, customers can contact Synology directly to send in their defective device and request a working replacement, simplifying logistics. Advanced options are also available that allow customers to receive a replacement unit before sending in the defective one, further reducing wait times for uninterrupted service.
 
Availability
 
The Extended Warranty Plus is available starting today, April 26, in select European countries, including Spain and Portugal, and North America. Customers who wish to activate it can do so within 90 days of purchasing the device through their Synology Account dashboard, or directly from DSM (version 7.1 and later). 
 
Synology is offering a promotional deal valid until August 31, 2022. This extends the purchase period beyond 90 days for devices still covered by the original limited warranty.
 
The extended warranty is available for specific Synology drive models: DS420j, DS220j, DS120j, DS220+, DS620slim and DS2422+.
